Vacuum-Formed Poly Steel Drums
Greif's Vacuum-Formed Poly Steel (VPS) Open-Head drum is a steel drum with a vacuum-formed polyethylene inner liner and cover disk. This type of drum is available in capacities of 5, 15, 30 and 55 gallon, of which the larger sizes are UN certified. The VPS drum is produced primarily in the U.S., but could be made available at other locations.
The VPS drum is either fitted with a plastic top or a steel top, isolating the drum contents with a polyethylene liner 15 or 18 mil (381 or 457 micron respectively) thick. Nylon flanges can be inserted through the steel cover/poly disk for added flexibility.
Although VPS drums can be used in most any application that requires a plastic bag, they are mainly applied for specialty chemicals.
