Timber
Greif owns and manages approximately 268,000 acres of timberland in the United States specifically in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. The timber is sold to the lumber, chip-n-saw and pulpwood markets.
We use intensive regeneration techniques to keep an ongoing supply of timber and to protect the land from erosion. We are active in the conservation of our property. We are committed to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative Program of the American Forest & Paper Association, which integrates forestry management with conservation of soil, air, water quality, and wildlife.
