More Than a Score: How EvoVadis Reflects Our Sustainability Commitments
EcoVadis is one of the most widely used sustainability assessments in global supply chains. Many customers use it to evaluate suppliers’ environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance. Greif’s 2026 EcoVadis score of 78 reflects our continued commitment to transparency, responsible business practices and sustainability performance.
In our latest blog, learn how ratings from EcoVadis, MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS and the S&P Corporate Sustainability Assessment work together to provide a broader view of our approach to sustainability, risk management and continuous improvement.
PPWR UPDATES
The EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) is now in active application, and recent guidance from the European Commission clarifies what businesses need to know about compliance, liability, and documentation requirements. From Declaration of Conformity responsibilities to EPR obligations and recycled content rules, understanding these updates is critical for packaging users across the supply chain.
Companies outside the EU may also be affected, as PPWR requirements can extend to businesses that place packaged products on the European market.
Explore the four key changes that could impact your operations and learn how to prepare your business for compliance.
Food safety doesn’t stop at production. For food and beverage manufacturers, packaging plays a critical role in protecting product integrity, reducing contamination risks, and supporting compliance across the supply chain. That’s why more companies are turning to suppliers with FSSC 22000-certified packaging operations, a globally recognized food safety management system benchmarked by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
FSSC 22000 certification is becoming a key differentiator for packaging suppliers and how certified packaging can help strengthen quality assurance, reduce supply chain risk, protect brand reputation, and build consumer trust. Learn how Greif’s network of FSSC 22000-certified facilities supports food and beverage manufacturers with reliable steel drums, plastic drums, and IBCs designed for today’s demanding food safety standards.

2026 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award Winner With Distinction
The 2026 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award recognizes organizations that excel at creating highly engaged workplace cultures where colleagues feel connected, supported and empowered to succeed. Greif was honored as a Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award Winner With Distinction, reflecting our strong commitment to employee engagement and workplace excellence.
Among the leaders helping bring that commitment to life are Plant Managers Manuel (Manny) Rodriguez and Bryan Sandifer, whose facilities achieved perfect scores on the 2026 Colleague Engagement Survey and who were each individually recognized as Greif Watson Award winners for their commitment to Servant Leadership principles. Through open communication, responsiveness to colleague feedback and a focus on team success, they have helped create workplaces where people feel valued and can do their best work.
As Greif EVP & CHRO Bala Sathyanarayanan shared:
“Stories like Manny’s and Bryan’s are an important reminder that a great workplace is not created through a single initiative or moment, but through consistent, daily actions that help colleagues feel seen, heard and supported.”

Greif in the community
Team Greif proved that every mile matters at this year’s Pelotonia, with more than 180 riders logging nearly 2,000 miles in support of cancer research. Colleagues around the world joined the effort through local rides, runs and walks, while volunteers, fundraisers and supporters helped keep the momentum rolling. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our colleagues, families, customers and communities, Team Greif has raised nearly $220,000 this year. A powerful reminder that when we work together, we can go the distance for a great cause.
As part of the larger Simply Community peloton, Team Greif is helping power an even greater impact. Since Pelotonia’s founding, Simply Community has raised more than $6.5 million, contributing to the remarkable $339 million raised overall by Pelotonia, with 100% of funds directed to cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James). It’s an inspiring example of what can happen when people come together around a shared purpose. From the first pedal stroke to the final fundraising push, Team Greif continues to prove that together, we can go the distance for a cure.
By listening directly to customers and engaging with employees across Vietnam, Greif gained a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges influencing the region’s growth. Customer conversations provided valuable insight into evolving market needs, while a town hall with Greif Vietnam employees underscored the important role local teams play in delivering legendary customer service, fostering innovation and building lasting partnerships with customers.
Greif’s barrier technologies go beyond packaging, actively protecting what’s held inside from gases, moisture, and contamination. We can tailor our barrier solutions to meet each customer’s specific needs. Watch our YouTube series explaining each barrier technology.
