Food Safety & Quality Day – IBC Plant Pasir Gudang

The IBC Plant in Pasir Gudang recently held its annual Food Safety & Quality Day, bringing together around twenty employees from different departments to reinforce our shared commitment to Zero Contamination. The event served as a reminder that disciplined, consistent practices are essential for keeping our operations safe and compliant.

The program began with a Food Safety Hazard Training session, where employees revisited key topics such as physical, chemical, allergen and microbiological hazards. This refresher strengthened awareness of potential contamination risks and ensured that everyone remains vigilant in safeguarding product quality. A Mix & Match activity followed, using an interactive format to reinforce fundamentals like hygiene discipline, proper handling of food-grade items and the importance of FIFO (First In, First Out) in materials management.

The highlight of the day was a video competition that encouraged cross-department collaboration and gave employees the opportunity to demonstrate ownership of our Zero Contamination mindset. The videos reflected a strong understanding that food safety is a shared responsibility, not limited to a single function, and depends on collective effort across the plant.

Throughout the event, teams showcased how the “Think Differently” mindset is applied in daily operations: from Warehouse’s careful management of FIFO to Blow Moulding’s focus on clean production, Cage Line’s adherence to product specifications for IBC accessories, Logistics’ safe handling practices, and Maintenance’s strict separation of food-grade materials. Food Safety & Quality Day is a valuable reminder of the standards we uphold, but Zero Contamination remains a daily commitment supported by teamwork, discipline and continuous awareness.
