Greif has reached an important milestone in its global growth journey with the opening of its new Global Capability Center in Chennai, India on Friday, June 12. The new center reflects the company’s continued commitment to investing in global talent, strengthening operational excellence, and accelerating digital transformation across its global network.
Strategically located in one of India’s leading technology and business hubs, the center will initially support key areas including Data and AI Engineering, Analytics, Human Resources, Learning and Development, and Total Rewards.
The new center further strengthens Greif’s global footprint, enabling the company to leverage diverse talent, advanced technical expertise, and scalable business support functions to better serve customers and stakeholders around the world.
To commemorate the occasion, Greif leaders from across the organization joined colleagues in Chennai for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony. Attendees included Chief HR Officer Bala Sathyanarayanan, Chief Digital & Information Officer Vivian Bouet, VP, Global Head of Digital Transformation, Data & AI Jatinder Singh, VP, Global Business & Technology Solutions Timothy Smith, and Director of AI and Digital Foundry David Beatty.
The event also featured a traditional ceremonial lamp lighting, a significant cultural symbol in India representing knowledge, positivity, and new beginnings. Together with the ribbon cutting ceremony, the event marked the start of an exciting new chapter for Greif’s growing presence in the region.
