The food-grade product GCUBE IBC is built around a simple and essential concept – protecting filled-in food products. The GCUBE Food IBC has been designed in close partnership with our food customers to reduce risk of contamination, paying attention to the details.

Only food-compliant materials are being used according to the Code of Federal Regulations in 21 CFR of the U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

As for customers based in European Union countries, we can issue a declaration of conformity for GCUBE IBC items intended for the transport and storage of foodstuffs:

• Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004 and the special method Commission Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 to be applicable for plastic packaging
• Commission Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006 on Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) for materials and articles intended to come into contact with food

Important: It is the responsibility of the filler to review the declaration to determine it meets the requirements applicable to the filling goods.  The filler is also responsible for carrying out their own tests to determine the suitability of the packaging.

GFSI: Global Food Safety Initiative has established model requirements for sector specific preventative programs, such as ISO/TS 22002-X series and additional requirements.

Several Greif plants are certified to GFSI model programs meeting FSSC 22000 or SQF requirements. This food safety certification is globally accepted as a comprehensive management system for food safety packaging.
