Greif’s Netherlands Facility Receives Food Safety Certification

Greif’s Rigid Industrial Packaging and Services facility in Ede, Netherlands has achieved the FSSC 22000 Certification (Food Safety System Certification) for its GCUBE IBC production, making it the fourth Greif facility in Europe to secure this standard. Greif’s IBC accessories site in Bottanuco, Italy achieved the same certification in 2018. Investment in food safety remains a priority at Greif.

The FSSC is fully recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and demonstrates that a company has an effective food safety management system that meets the requirements of regulators, food manufacturers, and their customers.

“FSSC 22000 certification demonstrates Greif’s commitment to driving continuous improvement in our operations,” said Luca Bettoni Greif EMEA IBC and plastic product manager. “It recognizes our strong processes and credentials, to identify and manage risks and apply suitable controls. FSSC 22000 allows us to offer the strongest food safety assurances to our customers and their consumers.”

Greif’s Ede facility was officially opened in 2018 and has been designed to offer customers the very latest IBC technologies available to the market, with a specific focus on the food industry. The certification follows Greif’s investments at Ede in technologies, equipment and materials and the compliance of the manufacturing operations with all relevant food packaging requirements. Ede’s facilities include a high care production department with blue resin floor and state-of-the-art blow molding machines for food-grade IBCs.
