DRUMS FALLING FROM THE SKY?

Date: 2016-06-14

Belgrano II (located on the Filchner Ice Shelf in Antarctica), is an Argentinian base founded in 1979.

Once a year, Argentinian military personnel count on important deliveries directly from the sky to make their survival possible in such a tough environment. For this reason, Greif’s Large Steel Drums performance is definitely critical for them.

“Greif is honored to be a key supplier for more than 10 years now, providing UN certified tight head large steel drums which are delivered in a very special way to this base in Antarctica.” said Eduardo Simoniello, President of Greif Latin America. For this special delivery, the drums are palletized and delivered via parachute from an airplane. Upon landing, they are retrieved by the military and taken to the base.
