Recently Greif’s UK facility in Burton upon Trent achieved its ISO 9001:2015 certification. The certification was confirmed following a successful audit conducted by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), the world’s leading provider of independent assessment services.
“We are rigorous in our own self-assessment and are constantly striving to achieve continuous improvement in all our business activities,” said Gary Underhill, Quality Manager / Continuous Improvement Co-ordinator. “We are committed to providing a high-quality service to all of our customers. The successful transition from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015 demonstrates this approach.”
Adopted by more than one million organisations worldwide, ISO 9001 is the world’s most recognised management system standard. ISO 9001:2015 replaces ISO 9001:2008 and has been written to offer organisations improved performance and business benefits. One of the major changes to ISO 9001 is that it brings quality management and continual improvement into the heart of an organisation. Senior management within an organisation is involved and accountable, aligning quality with the wider business strategy.
Greif’s Burton upon Trent facility has a long history of producing UN and non-UN steel and stainless steel drums. Its product portfolio has recently been expanded to include both tight head and open head drums in sizes ranging from 5 to 250 litres capacities and salvage drums.
