Greif Plant in Greece Achieves 11 Years of Accident-Free Operation

Greif’s Rigid Industrial Packaging and Services plant in Mandra, Greece has achieved 11 years of operation without an accident. Achieving more than a decade of accident-free work supports Greif’s aspiration of achieving zero accidents at all of its facilities worldwide.

“It is definitely a special feeling knowing that our people have been safe for this long period of time, and that all efforts to stretch this count are persistent and improving every year even more,” said John Kranakis, operation manager II at Greif’s Mandra facility in Greece.

The facility in Mandra operates with the mantra “safe at work, safe going home.” Helping the team achieve their safety aspirations include a thorough process of training for new colleagues and regular safety training that includes first aid.

The plant in Mandra is the recipient of nine consecutive Chairman Safety Awards, which is a Greif program that recognizes facilities that demonstrate a consistent and high-level of safety.

The facility in Mandra produces large steel and conical drums, along with IBCS and various plastic containers.
